Toyota’s Three Musketeers: New Generation Sports Coupes Teased Ahead of Launch
Auto News

Toyota has unveiled a teaser highlighting three new sports models set to debut on December 4, signalling a major performance-focused reveal for both Toyota and Lexus. The image hints at a new Lexus sports coupe, the production-ready GR GT supercar, and its GT3 racing counterpart, each reflecting design cues seen in earlier concepts and test vehicles.

On the left appears to be the production evolution of the Lexus Sport Concept showcased earlier this year. It keeps the concept’s low-slung coupe profile and futuristic lighting, though some of its more dramatic elements may be toned down. While originally believed to be fully electric, the model is now expected to feature a hybrid V8 sourced from Toyota’s GR division, and is slated for a 2026 arrival as the successor to the current LC.

Centred in the teaser is Toyota’s forthcoming GR GT supercar. Known for its stretched hood, traditional rear glass, and full-width LED taillights, the model also sports a performance-oriented interior with carbon-fibre bucket seats and a mix of digital and physical controls. Its twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 hybrid powertrain—estimated at around 800 hp from the engine alone—positions it as Toyota’s most powerful production car ever.

Completing the trio is a GT3-spec racing version of the GR GT, easily recognised by its extreme aerodynamic package, including vented fenders, a fixed rear wing, side-exit exhausts, and a notably lower stance. All three vehicles will be revealed during a live-streamed event on December 4, hosted by President Akio Toyoda.
