JAECOOL: Jaecoo 7 Black Luxury Edition… it was inevitable
Auto News

Jaecoo UK has decided that what Britain really needs right now is… more SUVs. But not just any SUVs—two new versions of its unexpectedly popular JAECOO 7. Because clearly, one wasn’t quite enough.

First up: the Jaecoo 7 SHS-P Black Luxury. And yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Everything—everything—has been dipped in black. Grille? Black. Badges? Black. Wheels, roof, mirrors? Also black. Even the inside has gone full Darth Vader with a black headliner and trim.

It’s less “family SUV” and more “I might be on my way to a secret meeting in a volcano lair.”
All yours for £36,500, assuming you like your hybrids with a side of menace.

Then there’s the more sensible one: the Jaecoo 7 SHS-H. This is Jaecoo’s first proper full hybrid—no plugging in, no cables, no awkward conversations with your extension lead. Just get in and go.

Under the bonnet is a 1.5-litre turbo engine doing clever hybrid things, producing 224 PS. That’s enough to get from 0–62 mph in 8.3 seconds, which in SUV terms means “surprisingly brisk,” and on to 112 mph, which is more than enough for Britain’s average speed camera collection.

It’ll also do about 53 mpg, which means you can drive past petrol stations with a smug look on your face for slightly longer than usual.

Inside, even the base model gets a massive screen, wireless phone mirroring, and enough tech to make you feel like you’re piloting something far more expensive. Go for the Deluxe, and it gets even posher—because of course it does.

All of this comes as Jaecoo rides a wave of success, having sold over 35,000 cars in the UK already and somehow convincing people that a brand they hadn’t heard of five minutes ago is now worth serious consideration.
