As you may well know by now the Honda Civic has been given a bit of a makeover, and while the new 10th generation styling might be acquired taste it has now been joined by a prototype version of the next generation Type R. This is what it could look like.
That aggressive wide body look has boosted the Civic’s passive-aggressive 10th generation styling, at least the Type R’s signature ‘oversized’ rear wing remains an ever present hallmark, a danger sign if you will.
Honda haven’t confirmed what engine will lie beneath this deranged looking, escapee but we can speculate that the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine will aim to generate at least a Ford Focus rivalling 345bhp, possibly 5 or 10bhp more.
But we can see that the 10th gen Type R Prototype has side-skirts, rear carbon-fibre diffuser and a front splitter to give an air of aerodynamic mastery.
Honda will reveal the actual, full-bloodied production version next year,2017, and for the very first time Americans will be able to see what all the fuss is about.
