MG Motor UK has confirmed that the MGS5 EV, a new electric SUV, will debut this Spring. The vehicle will utilize the modular scalable platform (MSP) developed for the MG4 hatchback, which is expected to provide good dynamic performance on both city roads and highways, alongside a strong range. The MGS5 EV will also offer the space, comfort, and practicality typically associated with SUVs.

The interior of the MGS5 EV is designed to feature advanced and premium technologies, with the intention of raising standards within the SUV segment.

While the vehicle is positioned to meet consumer expectations, it will also continue to reflect MG’s focus on delivering competitive value, particularly in the EV market.

David Allison, Head of Product and Planning for MG Motor UK, noted that the MGS5 EV is expected to offer a well-equipped, spacious SUV with electric performance.

He also highlighted improvements in cabin ambience and technology that should enhance the overall MG experience.

Full details of the MGS5 EV are expected to be released in the coming weeks. But it’s already available in China, with prices starting at $16,000. It is essentially based on the MG4.
