Matt Armstrong Continues Quest To Restore Crash Damaged Bugatti Chiron
Video

Bugatti, quite sensibly, declined to help Matt Armstrong repair a crash-damaged Chiron, citing safety concerns. The company’s CEO went further, suggesting the car was effectively beyond repair altogether, explaining that it’s built using highly specialised tooling and requires near-obsessive levels of engineering precision just to meet factory tolerances.

Matt Armstrong, however, took a slightly different view. He is not a trained engineer, but a self-taught, “we’ll-have-a-go-and-see-what-happens” kind of mechanic, whose YouTube channel attracts millions of views by attempting things most sane people would immediately label as impossible.

In the latest update, he’s had the interior retrimmed in purple—an interior choice that can only be described as confident—and has enlisted Bob the welder to tackle the essential structural repairs.
