From Aluminium to Adrenaline: The Making of A Ferrari Hybrid Supercar
Video

At Ferrari’s legendary Maranello facility in Italy, precision engineering and Italian craftsmanship converge to create the SF90 Spider, a high-performance hybrid supercar combining electrification with exhilarating performance.

Production begins with the bodywork, manufactured at Ferrari’s Carrozzeria Scaglietti facility in nearby Modena. Carefully assembled aluminium panels undergo meticulous alignment checks before moving to the paint shop, where specialist processes deliver the car’s distinctive finish.

Back in Maranello, the assembly process brings together independently prepared components, including the cockpit, doors and powertrain.

The SF90 Spider’s sophisticated hybrid system combines a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with three electric motors, supported by high-voltage batteries and advanced electronic controls. Integrating these complex systems demands exceptional precision to ensure seamless cooperation between combustion and electric power.

Skilled technicians install the interior, electronic architecture and performance systems, with quality checks conducted throughout assembly. Ferrari’s approach combines modern manufacturing technology with hands-on expertise, ensuring attention to detail at every stage.

Before delivery, each completed car undergoes comprehensive inspections and road testing to verify performance, functionality and finish. The result is a supercar engineered not simply for speed, but for the precision, refinement and driving excitement synonymous with the Ferrari name.
