When we came across Equus Automotive we thought who? That’s a restored Ford Mustang right. Wrong.
What you are looking at is a hand made American muscle car built, designed and engineered from the ground up, a car inspired by the 1960’s and 1970’s muscle car fastback era.
Yes it looks as close to damn it as a Ford Mustang clone, however the body of Equus Bass 770 is fabricated out of carbon fiber and rests on an aluminium chassis.
The Equus Bass 770 is powered by a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 from the Chevrolet Corvette and has been tuned to deliver 640bhp and 605 lb ft torque.
Naturally the Bass 770 is rear wheel drive but don’t be fooled by those retro looks, the 770 uses a double clutch six speed transaxle. You want a 0-62mph time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 200mph, fear not its all there.
Equus Automotive company was formed in 2009 and the Bass 770 was unveiled at the 2014 North American Auto show, if you want one you’re going to have to find a spare $225,000 for this ultra luxury and modern take on an American classic.
