And so it is with the Ford GT40, an example of Ford being purely Ford with no complications. The 2005 Ford GT40 was a modern reinterpretation of the iconic 1960s Ford GT40.

It was produced by Ford as a limited-edition supercar from 2005 to 2006 paying homage to its legendary 1960s predecessor while incorporating contemporary design and performance elements. It was powered by a mid-mounted 5.4-litre supercharged V8 engine, producing 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque.

This potent engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, allowing drivers to fully engage with the car’s performance. The 2005 GT is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in around 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of approximately 205 mph (330 km/h).

The GT was built using lightweight materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber, contributing to its agility and performance. It featured a deployable rear spoiler and a diffuser, which helped generate downforce and maintain stability at high speeds.

Inside, the 2005 Ford GT offered a driver-focused cockpit with a minimalist design. It featured supportive leather-trimmed seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a straightforward instrument cluster providing essential information to the driver.
