The unveiling of the second-generation Skoda Kodiaq showcases a design that bears an acute resemblance to the Peugeot 5008. However, the latest iteration of the Skoda Kodiaq marks a departure from its predecessor, embodying a shift characterized by a more revolutionary rather than evolutionary design approach.
If the preceding Kodiaq generation wasn’t substantial enough, the latest iteration is even larger in size. For a brand trumpeting its sustainability, the Kodiaq will be offered with diesel powertrains. Steer clear of Skoda’s diesel engine like the plague.
Do consider the mild hybrid 4-cylinder 204bhp petrol engine and possibly consider the 1.5-litre, 150bhp variant. Somewhere in the trim level is a plug-in hybrid version, Skoda claims an electric range of more than 100 kilometres. Don’t believe the latter claim, it is impossible to verify.
The two top engines are mated to all-wheel drive as standard. Also making their debuts are the latest generations of the LED Matrix headlights and the Dynamic Chassis Control system.
The all-new upmarket interior features a 13-inch infotainment display, Smart Dials with haptic controls and a new range structure with Design Selections.
In the UK, the new Kodiaq is set to be retail-ready in February 2024, with initial deliveries expected to roll out in June of the same year. Pricing details will be revealed at the next convenient press release.
