Audi Q9 Flagship SUV Focused on Luxury Interior Experience
Auto News

Audi is preparing to launch its new flagship full-size SUV, the Audi Q9, a model that places greater emphasis on interior comfort and in-cabin experience than on traditional performance figures. Positioned as a “mobile living space,” the Q9 is designed for families, business users, and long-distance travellers who value space, technology, and luxury.

The SUV offers both six- and seven-seat configurations, with the optional six-seat layout featuring two executive-style individual seats in the second row. These seats provide electric adjustment, ventilation, and massage functions, while the seven-seat version ensures flexibility for larger families.

All three second-row seats can accommodate child seats, and the third row folds electrically to quickly switch between passengers and cargo.

For the first time in an Audi, all doors are electrically operated and can be controlled through multiple inputs, including a smartphone app and in-car systems. Advanced sensors also detect obstacles to improve safety when opening doors in tight spaces.

A standout feature is the panoramic sunroof, which spans around 1.5 square metres and includes switchable glass segments that transition between transparent and opaque. Higher trims add ambient lighting with up to 30 colours.

Inside, the Q9 features dynamic lighting that syncs with music and driving conditions, paired with a 4D Bang & Olufsen sound system that adds physical feedback through the seats. Premium materials such as leather, wool blends, and wood trims create a refined cabin environment.

With generous storage solutions, wireless charging, and flexible cargo systems, the Q9 combines practicality with luxury. It is set to debut fully on July 29, 2026.
