The Ford F-Series Pickup is the best-selling vehicle in America. The Ford F-150 Raptor R is the hell-raising Yankee-doodle performance variant of the F-150 pickup truck. Yes, people are prepared to pay over $100,000 for a Ford. The F-150 Raptor R is powered by a tuned V8 that outputs 700bhp. That is a lot of power for most normal people, and especially for a 2-tonne pickup truck. But not the folks over at Hennessey Performance who released an upgrade package that nearly doubles the power over the stock F-150 Raptor R.

The Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000 is anticipated to boast nearly 1,000 bhp and more than 850 lb-ft of torque – engine output that would make the adept off-road pick-up one of the quickest and most powerful in the world.

The standard F-150 Raptor is fitted with a 2.65-liter supercharger as opposed to a twin-turbocharger configuration. The flagship Raptor R boasts Ford’s 5.2-litre ‘Predator’ V8. Hennessey’s engineers plan to replace the stock blower with a larger 3.8-liter supercharger.

Hennessey will also add a new high-flow induction, larger fuel injectors, upgraded fuel lines, and a new supercharger belt. When the final calibration is complete, the result is expected to be a 40 percent increase in output to 1,200bhp.
