LoveFrom The Prancing Horse: Ferrari Luce Signals A Historic Turning Point
Auto News

Ferrari today unveiled the Ferrari Luce in Rome, symbolically linking the launch to the city where Ferrari earned its first victory in 1947 with the 125 S driven by Franco Cortese.

The Luce represents the culmination of Ferrari’s multi-energy strategy announced in 2022, positioning electrification not as a replacement for combustion engines but as an expansion of Ferrari’s engineering and design possibilities.

Developed entirely in-house at Maranello, from its electric motors to its battery pack, the project includes more than 60 patents and reflects Ferrari’s commitment to technological innovation, performance, and long-term customer support.

Designed in collaboration with Jony Ive and Marc Newson through LoveFrom, the Luce introduces a radically new Ferrari architecture.

It combines four doors and five seats — a first for Ferrari — with a spacious, minimalist interior and a sleek exterior defined by a glass-heavy “shell-like” design.

Signature styling details include transparent light panels, halo-inspired tail lights referencing the Ferrari 360 Modena and Ferrari 458 Italia, and record-sized 23-inch front and 24-inch rear wheels.

Technically, the Luce is Ferrari’s most ambitious road car yet. Built on a bespoke electric platform, it produces 1050 cv from four independent electric motors and achieves 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 6.8 seconds, a top speed above 310 km/h, and over 530 km of range.

Advanced systems include torque vectoring, active suspension, rear-wheel steering, and Ferrari’s new Vehicle Control Unit operating 200 times per second. A 122 kWh battery supports 350 kW fast charging on an 800 V architecture.

Ferrari also focused heavily on sound, comfort, and aerodynamics. The Luce features a patented sound system that authentically amplifies mechanical vibrations, while active aerodynamics and lightweight aluminium construction deliver Ferrari’s lowest-ever drag coefficient.
