Jason Cammisa examines whether the Lamborghini Temerario can repeat the extraordinary success of the Gallardo and Huracán, or whether it will struggle like Lamborghini’s earlier V8-powered Baby Lamborghinis.

The video explores three distinct chapters in Lamborghini’s history of smaller, more affordable supercars. The first, represented by the Urraco, Silhouette and Jalpa, was powered by V8 engines and failed to generate the sales Lamborghini needed. The second chapter introduced the V10-powered Gallardo and Huracán, which helped transform Lamborghini into a profitable company.

The Temerario begins the third chapter with a hybrid, flat-plane-crank, twin-turbo V8. Cammisa creates a checklist of essential Lamborghini characteristics, known as DA’PASTA, and uses it to assess whether the new car has retained the qualities that made its predecessors successful.

Alongside racing driver Randy Pobst, Cammisa drives examples from each generation at Thunderhill Raceway Park, while a Countach and Revuelto provide additional context. The episode also features several drag races, including the Temerario against the Revuelto and Huracán, plus a Countach-versus-Urraco showdown.

Cammisa ultimately finds plenty to admire in the Temerario, but argues that Lamborghini has also made some significant compromises. The question is whether its new technology can deliver the character and emotional appeal that made the Gallardo and Huracán such successes.
